Report (1997-99)

By the Grace and Blessings of our Dharmagurus, this Institute has been able to make sustantial progress during the past 2 years.

1. RESEARCH :

        The University of Kerala has recognised the Institute as a Research Centre in Sanskrit. $ candidates have already registered as Ph.D. Scholars. A commission appointed by Mahathma Gandhi University will visit on 5-8-99 for the purpose of recognising it as a Research Centre in Sanskrit.

An Advisory Board and an Academic Council comprising well-known scholars have been functioning.

2. PUBLICATIONS:     

i) Catalogue of the Sanskrit manuscripts is ready for release. The publication was sponsored by Sri Sidhindra Medical Mission 
ii) An anthology of various aspects of Vaishnavism (in Malayalam) is ready for publication.
iii)A Book on Konkani language and culture will be published soon.
iv)An anthology of old Konkani Literature of Kerala is being planned.
v) A catalogue of Malayalam Manuscripts is ready for publication.
vi)A Reasearch Journal (Half yearly) will be launched very soon. 

3. FUTURE PROJECTS   Immediates

1. To develop the Dept. of Vastuvidya into a National Institute of Vastuvidya.
2. To collect recordings of the pravachans made by our Dharmagurus in various parts of India and also to publish them in Book form.
3. Publication of Rigveda Kosha (Diactionary of Rgveda terms)
4. Publication of rae manuscripts in Tantra and Mantra.
5. To conduct intensive certificate course in Indian History and Culture in association with Bharatheeya Vichara Kendram, Kerala.
6. To conduct short term Courses in Vedas, Darshans and Bhagavat Gita.
7. To conduct periodical spoken Sanskrit Courses

8. To conduct a course in Konkani Language and Literature.
9. To institute fellowships and scholarships for scholars undertaking Research projects

Appeal

            This institute (founded by HH Srimad Sudhindra Thirtha Swamiji, Head of  Kashi Math Samsthan, in the name of His Holiness Srimad Sukrathindra Thirtha Swamiji) the only one of its kind under Kashi Math Samsthan has great scope. Efforts are being made with the blessings of Swamiji to elevate the institute to the status of a centre of excellence in Indological  Studies. For this a substantial Corpus Fund of  above 100 lakh  rupees is required. A Plan for Scholar's Residence (12 rooms) is ready. This can be materialized only if Donors come forward to donate a room each which will cost about Rs.85,000/= to Rs 1 Lakh.The Library (books as well as Palm Leaf Manuscripts) is to be expanded. Moreover it is planned to establish a museum of old material peculiar to GSB Culture (to preserve our heritage).

                All disciples of Kashi Math Samsthan, well wishers and Philanthropists are requested to contribute liberally towards the noble cause by offering money, books of Indological/Oriental importance, manuscripts and other  articles peculiar to GSB Culture .

                A  Half - yearly   Research Journal -Journal of  Sukrtindra Oriental Research Institute -  has been released .Please subscribe.                Yearly subscription -    Rs.150  ( individuals)  , Rs.200 (institutions)   - India  $ 15  -    outside India .
